Does anybody know how can i change Window Vista home to Window Xp Pro?

I have brought a computer from dell, but one of my software does not support Window Vista, therefore, i would like to change to window xp Pro, Can anybody have done that before. Since like dell does not allow us to change vi. of Window? Thanks

get the Windows XP CD, reformat the machine, and reload. You will have to download all of the drivers from Dell's support website. The CD they might have sent with device drivers will not work in XP.



Any add on software they might have provided will not reload on XP, you will not be able to use that anymore unless you download it again.

The only way is to install a Windows XP CD, format the hard disc, find all the drivers for the devices in your computer that require one (video card, sound card, etc.). There is no downgrade application from Vista to XP.
Of course, you can downgrade to XP professional. You will, however, need a copy of Windows XP. Simply insert it into your CD ROM drive, restart your computer, and boot from the CD. Then follow the on-screen prompts and install XP.

If you download killdisk to delete the entire hard drive you should then be able to install XP on the computer. You might have difficulties finding some drivers though.
First, I'm going to start off by being an asshole. Your father couldn't possibly be a computer programmer and be so computer illiterate. You can't just change Vista to XP.

You should try to contact your computer manufacturer about an XP downgrade/upgrade. If you cant for whatever reason, you are going to have to go to best buy or some other store and buy one.
You should know that Windows Vista and XP are two different Operating Systems. Some Programming won't be able to change it. You can try doing the following -

1. Try contacting Microsoft and ask them how to downgrade from Vista to XP (this is what they call this process as!)

2. Try contacting your Computer Vendor and ask him if he could replace Vista with XP.

Well, you can't change it back to XP directly from Vista. It is a totally different operating system. If your computer came with Vista, you can't downgrade back to XP. If you upgraded to Vista, get the installation disk. Try starting it up and see if has an option to uninstall Vista back to Windows XP. I feel for ya, I am not much of a Vista fan myself. I know it's new, but it's much slower and sloppier. I am having compatibility issues on another computer I use as well. If there is no option on the Vista CD, you will have to reformat your hard drive and have an XP installation disk to get it back.

1 - Did you UPGRADE?

2 - Did this system come with vista already installed?

3 - Is vista the frist or second OS(operating system(windows)) installed?





My box, I had XP Pro and then Installed Vista. I have sence removed vista and still have my XP Pro WITH-OUT redoing (formatting) my computer OR HDD.

If this is the case, let me know and I will send you a link, also, XP would have to have been installed FIRST.

restart the computer

delete everything off the computer harddrive

turn off the computer

put the windows xp cd inside the disk drive

restart

install xp

You will have to purchase a copy of xp and reformat your hard drive and do a clean install of XP.



If you had XP installed before and have the disk and the Product ID key, you will not need to purchase a new copy.

I just built a new PC myself and put Vista Home Premium on it and only had to down load One driver (video).
if you did the upgrade you might be able to get it back by calling windows if not then theres no why and even if you did do the upgrade you may still have to buy windows xp and reinstall it thats what I had to do I got windows vista like a fool had nothing but problems anyways if you did the full install your going to have to buy windows xp again sorry %26quot;vista sucks%26quot;
i think you just need to reboot your computer.

Just install Windows XP over Vista. But beware, XP sucks, especially with newer hardware. You're likely to run into tons of problems along the way.



In all honestly, Vista is far superior to XP.
Back up anything on there you want and Format it. Vista is a weird OS. When you install a fresh OS like XP or Vista the best way to do it is with a clean format. Vista may be a more powerful OS however it still is rife with issues. XP pro should work just fine :P. Many people are holding out until Window's 7 which is so far looking REALLY good in BETA testing.
Yes you can go ahead and just boot up to your XP disk and format and install XP. That is about the only way to do it and better if you do it that way! I don't blame you one bit for wanting to remove Vista! I hate it myself and don't use it besides in a VM just so I know how to fix stuff on it for customers!
Mine came with Vista. All I did was wipe my harddrive then run the XP installation disk. It works fine.
