I have brought a computer from dell, but one of my software does not support Window Vista, therefore, i would like to change to window xp Pro, Can anybody have done that before. Since like dell does not allow us to change vi. of Window? Thanks

get the Windows XP CD, reformat the machine, and reload. You will have to download all of the drivers from Dell's support website. The CD they might have sent with device drivers will not work in XP.
Any add on software they might have provided will not reload on XP, you will not be able to use that anymore unless you download it again.

The only way is to install a Windows XP CD, format the hard disc, find all the drivers for the devices in your computer that require one (video card, sound card, etc.). There is no downgrade application from Vista to XP.
Of course, you can downgrade to XP professional. You will, however, need a copy of Windows XP. Simply insert it into your CD ROM drive, restart your computer, and boot from the CD. Then follow the on-screen prompts and install XP.

Vista may be a more powerful OS however it still is rife with issues. XP pro should work just fine :P. Many people are holding out until Window's 7 which is so far looking REALLY good in BETA testing.
Yes you can go ahead and just boot up to your XP disk and format and install XP. That is about the only way to do it and better if you do it that way! I don't blame you one bit for wanting to remove Vista! I hate it myself and don't use it besides in a VM just so I know how to fix stuff on it for customers!

You CAN downgrade. You can. Believe me. You can. Microsoft is offering to give you a valid key for XP is you validate that you bought Vista and don't want it. They are keeping it quiet, but you CAN.
Download XP from the internet (not illegal, your getting a valid key, you just need the software first) and call microsoft for the key. Done.
Actually you can downgrade to XP. Microsoft will allow you to change your Vista to XP but anytime you install a new operating system, all your programs will be lost.

Installing XP will require you to reformat your hard drive(you can not down grade the same as you can upgrade a operating system), so the only way to retain the software is if Toshiba offers the software as a download so you may reinstall it. Also since Vista is newer it will come standard with software XP does not have. Most of this software can be substituted for good free applications. Check out download.com, it is one of the best download sights out there.
Another problem you may run into is that because your computer is newer there may or may not even be drivers availiable for your hardware. Odds are there will be, once again you will have to go to Toshiba's home page and see if there are drivers availiable for your product and XP, you may also check driversguide.com as they have almost any driver you could dream of. For a little $$ driversguide.com has software to help you locate the drivers for your computer.
The next problem is XP does not nativly support SATA drives, and as new as your computer is it probably has SATA drives. First, when first turning on your computer, press F8 a bunch of times until a black screen comes up with words on it. Then, press the up key and select safe mode. After that, a log-in screen will come up and you will see an administrator account. Try to log into that one. Once you're in, go to start, run, type cmd, then in the little box that comes up type: net user (your friend's user name) (Your friend's desired password). So if her log-in name is Lisa and she wants her password to be daisy, you would type net user Lisa daisy.
If none of that works, download a program called OphCrack. Burn it onto a cd and put it in the cd drive. Then restart the computer. It will open a program automatically that tells you all the passwords on the computer.

There is a way.. but only a experience user can do..
First install linux Operationg system. Then from linux operating system take out your data n tranfer somewhere else. than reformat your pc.. (easy method), the hard method is from the linux change a few window system file.. ( really not for dummies)
Other way is surf the net for website that have crack program that allow you to crack that password for your window. (be very carefull with this virus program).

The short answer: no. Vista sucks.
The long answer: even if Vista didn't suck, you would still have to reformat and possibly repartition your hard drive before installing.
restart pcs-press F12, load from d:, incert CD, is gonna ask u if u want to use the folder in the previous instalation, click it this will do it
you have 2 choice:
1.install windows xp with inserting bootable windows xp and then install vista after that
2.(I myself choosed this way)use some virtual PC program to create virtual PC and install xp in virtual PC.
I use %26quot;vmware%26quot; for it.It's so usefull program for this
