That's not too likely, so no it's not really a danger. compatibility might be an issue, though, so make sure you have those problems taken care of.
Yep, you can change. You need to purchase Vista though, it isn't just a simple upgrade. If your computer is new, see if it came with an upgrade clause. My HP did and I will be getting a copy of Vista. Your files will stay intact with the upgrade, no worries there.
No you will not I have done it and all my files were there just remember when you are doing the installation make sure your doing an %26quot;UPGRADE%26quot; not new installation and you should be fine.
