Why can't i change my windows xp professional to 32 bit?

i did look this up before asking. i went to the control panel and display etc......... and it will only let me change between 16 bit and 24 bit.. i don't understand whats going on.. i have a lcd screen and windows xp proffesional.. isn't win pr supposed to be 64 bit or something? someone please help.

You need to make sure that you have the latest driver for your video card. These should be available from the manufacturer of your card (such as NVIDIA or ATI) or your computer manufacturer (such as Dell or HP).

buy the correct version of windows will help, then hope you mobo is compatible.
you are confused... windows xp pro is 32bit they also have a 64bit but it is not common.... what you are looking at is the display setting and that has nothing to do with the windows being 32bit or 64bit.. i would recommend updating your display drivers... also you cannot change from 32bit to 64bit without reloading windows form the appropriate cd.
