How to change windows Vista to XP?
In order to install XP on the conputer, you will need to delete the partition that has Vista on it and recreate a new partition, formatted with NTFS. During the XP install it will offer you the option to do this. This means that you will permanently lose any files, pictures, music, videos, programs, etc you have on your computer. So be sure to back up your data and have disk to reinstall programs before you start.

99% of the processors on the market do not require a driver to work with XP. However 100% of video cards, audio cards, network cards, modems, etc do require drivers. For maybe 5% the drivers are on the XP CD. But most require you to find and download the drivers yourself. The best place to look is the web site of your PC's manufacturer. Normally they will have XP drivers (if they exist) for you model.

To do the actual install, you will need an XP CD and an activation code. Without those, you can not do the install.

Also realize the XP is not longer being sold by Microsoft, they have stopped updates for it, and will end user support shortly after Windows 7 is released next month. This means that the next time a security hole is found in XP or a major bug is revealed, Microsoft will NOT be fixing it. That will make using XP dangerous and wide open to hackers, viruses, etc. It also means that any new software or hardware will not be designed to be XP compatible. Within 6 months you will not be able to find anything that will run with XP.

A smarter move may be to live with Vista for one month, and then put the same time, effort and money that you would put into downgrading to XP to upgrade to Windows 7 instead. Why go back to a dead OS?
How to change windows Vista to XP?
with your original windows xp cd
Delete the partition, Make a new partition and install XP.
FORMAT AGAIN AN REINSTALL WINDOW XP CD IN YOU SYSTEM
just download service pack from microsoft website and install them..
You are a moron! This action made sense 2 years ago if your computer was a piece of crap, today it defines stupidity. I can't believe you are about to install a dead OS on your computer.

If you want a really fast operating system install windows 95 or 98.Your computer will fly! Idiot!
This update enables Windows XP or Vista to detect activation exploits that bypass product activation and that interfere with usual Windows operation. An activation exploit is a form of software that replaces or modifies authentic Windows components. When activation exploits are present on a system, it indicates that a software or hardware vendor may have tampered with genuine Windows to enable the sale of counterfeit software. Therefore, the security and the privacy of the computer are put at risk. After this update is installed, you will know if activation exploits are present on the system.

To obtain this update, visit the following Microsoft Web site, or enable the Automatic Update feature to install the latest updates
Almost 3 years later still morons downgrading to a dead OS! Learn how to operate a computer so you won't ask stupid things
I agree that you are a moron. XP is NOT faster than Vista! And certainly not even close to being better. Learn how to use a computer before you bash a great OS.

If you got it from a torrent it is a bootleg copy and will not update leaving you open for Viruses and Spyware.

Good luck making that work. LOL
